The good news is that even though we know as Christians that we are all going to die (unless the Rapture occurs while we are alive in this life), we know that we will always be with God as well. Romans 8:38, 39 tells us that death does not separate a believer in Jesus Christ from him. This is in contrast with the unbeliever, who is separated from God when he or she dies, and goes to the place of torment, Hell. The Apostle Paul also has told us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23, ESV). And Paul wrestled with this eternal life, for he knew that it was far better than his current life. He told the Philippians, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account” (Philippians 1:21-24, ESV).
