God always follows the patterns we see outlined in the Bible, whether in the Old or New Testaments. Regularly we seek God’s guidance on what we are to do in a certain matter. Probably the most vital thing I can tell you is that you need to wait, you need to wait, if you don’t have a clear answer on what you should do. That is critical. At times God withholds an answer and doesn’t want us to do anything at the moment. The Holy Spirit again will give us peace at the moment God wants us to go one particular way; we will have peace in thinking about going that way. And, again, we will have a lack of peace in considering the way that is incorrect. In considering going that way will feel uncomfortable. Paul told the Philippian believers, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (4:7, ESV). In operating by peace then, we are guarded, both in our hearts and in our minds. In other words, we cannot lose in living this way.
