       And that’s the difference between the Christian and non-Christian. The Christian has the choice to present his members for righteousness and goodness because why? Because as we learned last week, the Christian is dead to sin and alive to God. You see, unbelievers don’t have the choice of whether or not they want to serve sin. Unbelievers are slaves to sin. They are born into this world that way, just as we originally were, but they still remain in that state. John notes the difference between the unbeliever and the believer. He said in one of his epistles: “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:3-5, ESV).
